Delyno, a talented DJ and Musician from Europe - Presented by West Coast Midnight Run. Delyno is a talented DJ and composer that is starting to make waves on the Continent in Europe. Will he cross over to North America? Peter Maertin from West Coast Midnight Run sat down for an interview with him.

Delyno is a new name in the music industry, if you have not been following some trends recently.

Born and living in Romania, Delyno’s original name is Ionut Murgoci. The talented musician, composer, DJ and record producer has taken the long road towards the Music Industry. His first actual hit gaining him a path of recognition started with Ether Party, a track he cut in 2008 but it was not until a year later that the song, with vocalist Relly, took off in Greece. Delyno is one of a handful of Romanian musicians that were broadcast in the Greek Isles markets.

From 2009 through 2011, Ether Party became a top hit in several European and Middle Eastern markets including Egypt and Bahrain.

During this period, Delyno produced and released three mix compilation albums titled Sapphire Bosphorus (2009 - 2010), VA Mykonos (2010) and Diamond - Ether Party (2012).

West Coast Midnight Run correspondant Peter Maertin sat down with Delyno and spoke with him at length about his current work and projects.

WCMR - PM: You have had an incredible streak lately with your most recent productions, how did you happen to select the artistic name Delyno?

Delyno: I did not really think about it much, it was one of those things that just happened, I was working on a fictive finals exam project at the academy and the name just popped into my head, it just sounded good and I decided to use it later in my professional work as an artist and DJ.

WCMR: You were recently in Mykonos?

Delyno: Well yes been a little busy lately and have been all over the map, from New York to Bulgaria, Mexico, the UK and the USA with new projects coming with new vocalists, that I personally chose, and some publicity appearances including a visit to Mykonos for an MTV award where I played with Ganos and Lupa at Club Paradise.

WCMR : Success hasn’t been easy for you, you have gone through a formal schooling route, studied sound engineering and production at the Showbiz Academy in Venice, Milan, before making Ether Party, who do you feel influenced your work today?

Delyno: Right after graduation from the academy I met the author of Tornero (4th place at Eurovision contest 2006) - with him I worked at his studio and learned about audio sound quality issues when mixing a single track or producing an entire album.

WCMR: Do you consider yourself a DJ or a music producer first?

Delyno: I consider myself a music producer first. Creating original, powerful music is my first love. I like to spend time in the studio but I also enjoy be-
ing a DJ and playing music to
live audiences at open air
clubs and events.

WCMR: What are your plans
for the foreseeable future?

Delyno: I am trying to create
new sound with new feeling,
for the joy of my fans. I don't
wanna become a producer
with a boring sound .... [pause]
even if it is kinda risky to al-
ways change, but as long as I
like my sound, for me it's ok.
